Forum Title: Hi! I am looking to tap into my cold water line
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Hello, I would like to tap into my water line with a saddle valve to create a drip system for my aquariums. I was wondering if there was any issues tapping into the water tank's water line. I attached an image of what I believe is the copper tube coming from the main water line and feeding the water heater. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Saddle valves are not allowed by code. You should cut into the line, add a tee and a proper valve. One other issue you might want to consider is that heat will migrate upward along those pipes, which means you might have warm/hot water going to your aquarium.. Not sure if this would be a problem or not.
